LG Electronics announced on the 25th that it will launch the 'LG Gallery+' service, which allows users to enjoy various contents including art works according to their preferences.
LG Gallery+ is a service that utilizes LG TVs as digital frames, allowing users to appreciate their favorite content such as art and games. It offers more than 4,000 various contents including famous paintings and game illustrations. Works displayed in major global art museums like the National Gallery in London and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul can be viewed through LG TVs.
The service is characterized by reflecting customer feedback from the planning stage, providing not only classic artworks but also a variety of images from games and movies.
LG Electronics confirmed during periodic in-depth customer interviews that customers expressed a desire to view not only famous paintings but also game illustrations and movie posters featuring their favorite characters on TV. Collaborations were made with major European game companies such as Ubisoft. The TV screen can also be adorned with the expansive landscapes from the game 'Assassin's Creed' or action scenes from 'Rainbow Six Siege.' It is also possible to set the TV wallpaper with images created by artificial intelligence (AI).
LG Gallery+ was recently launched in 23 countries, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and 20 countries in the European Union (EU). The service is being gradually rolled out depending on the model and software version for UHD TVs released after 2023 and OLED/8K TVs released in 2022.
Jo Byeong-ha, head of the webOS platform business center at LG Electronics (executive director), noted, "We will provide the unique value of LG webOS to more customers through various high-quality contents in art, games, and other fields to match the rapidly changing trends."
