LG Electronics is accelerating its expansion in the global commercial laundry appliance business, which is rapidly growing, focusing on North America and Europe.
LG Electronics announced on the 24th that it will participate in the largest North American laundry and textile management industry exhibition, 'The Clean Show 2025,' held in Orlando, Florida, for four days starting on the 23rd (local time).
'The Clean Show' is a representative global B2B laundry and textile management industry exhibition with over 9,000 industry participants from around the world. LG Electronics has consistently participated in major exhibitions worldwide, such as the 'Clean Show' in the U.S. and 'Texcare' in Germany, since launching its compact products in the U.S. in 2008, thus beginning its full-scale global commercial laundry appliance business.
This year, LG Electronics has prepared an exhibition space of about 231 m² and will showcase its lineup of commercial laundry appliances, ranging from 'LG Professional' large-capacity commercial washing machines to compact drum washers and dryers, as well as top-load washing machines.
'LG Professional' features a diverse lineup of washing machines, dryers, and combination washer-dryers. It employs AI technology to analyze laundry for optimal washing and drying cycles, and precisely detects the vibrations and rotations of the drum to shorten washing times, even with large loads. The dryer is equipped with a low-temperature dehumidifying inverter heat pump, offering higher energy efficiency and less fabric damage compared to heater-based methods.
Considering the diverse business environments of B2B customers, LG Electronics is also introducing integrated management solutions such as the commercial laundry appliance dedicated app 'Laundry Crew' and use cases for the 'Application Programming Interface (API)'.
LG Electronics' dedicated app 'Laundry Crew' enhances energy efficiency and management convenience with various functions, including remote device control and error notifications. It also presents diverse API use cases for B2B customers who have difficulty using 'Laundry Crew', such as corporations that already have their own management solutions.
The API is a type of 'digital connectivity bridge' that allows data exchange and function sharing between different software. LG Electronics supports B2B customers in developing and utilizing their own unique management solutions tailored to their respective situations by utilizing its own API.
This year, LG Electronics plans to expand 'LG Professional', which was first introduced in the Korean market, into the North American and European markets to further accelerate growth in the commercial laundry appliance business. Following the supply of commercial washers to the second-largest U.S. laundry solutions company, 'Wash', last year, LG Electronics is achieving successive results this year by starting supply to the largest U.S. laundry solutions company, 'CSC Serviceworks'.
According to global market research firm Skyquest, the global commercial laundry market is projected to grow to approximately $10.8 billion (about 15.1 trillion won) by 2032. In particular, in the U.S. and Europe, many households prefer to use shared laundry spaces or laundromats instead of installing laundry rooms in multi-family residences such as apartments.
Ryu Jae-cheol, head of LG Electronics' HS Business Unit, said, "The commercial laundry market, which has a clear growth potential, is an important B2B market for the qualitative growth of the home appliance business," adding, "We will continue to grow in the U.S. B2B home appliance market by leading with our differentiated premium commercial laundry appliance lineup featuring AI and high efficiency."
