The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 24th that it has selected 10 corporations to participate in the 'AI and Digital Business Partnership' program, which supports Korean artificial intelligence (AI) and digital startups in entering the U.S. market in New York.
The Ministry of Science and ICT opened a 'Global AI Frontier Lab' at New York University in September last year to conduct joint AI research and has been using it as a support hub for Korean startups.
A total of 27 corporations applied for the second half of the year, and the selected include ▲Glorang ▲DUBU ▲Risorius ▲MADUP ▲Seven Point One ▲ADDD ▲ENERZAi ▲Ontact Health ▲Toonsquare ▲Petnow.
These corporations will complete the AI Accelerating Program (AIIA) at New York University's Stern School from the 25th to October 23rd, and then embark on overseas expansion efforts such as securing local customized solutions for four weeks.
The Ministry of Science and ICT noted that the 10 corporations that participated in the first half of the year achieved results, including 13 contracts and agreements with local firms and three applications in the U.S. (two patents and one trademark), and it plans to support companies expected to achieve additional results by operating exhibition booths at the local Korean startup networking event 'KOOM' from October 16 to 18.
Earlier on the 22nd, during a meeting between the Ministry of Science and ICT and the participating corporations from the first and second halves of the year, the first half corporations highlighted their local system experience as an advantage and expressed disappointment over the company visits and schedule changes.
