A payment error has occurred again in Samsung Electronics' smartphone payment service 'Samsung Pay.'
According to Samsung Electronics on the 22nd, a payment error occurred around 6:10 a.m. with Hyundai Card registration and payments on Samsung Pay. It was restored around 8:50 a.m., approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes later.
Samsung Electronics noted through a related announcement around 9:22 a.m. that "the issue with Hyundai Card has been resolved, and normal payments are now possible," adding, "We will continue to work with the card company to prevent recurrence."
This is the third time this year that payment errors have occurred with Samsung Pay, following incidents in April and June.
In early June, there was an outage lasting about 3 hours and 30 minutes. At that time, Samsung Electronics stated that the issue was due to problems with dedicated line networks from some card companies. However, a subsequent investigation revealed that the cause was a firewall error at the Samsung SDS Suwon Data Center.
