Naver announced on the 21st that a noticeable increase was confirmed in key metrics, such as average user stay time and click-through rates, for businesses where the Place artificial intelligence (AI) briefing is applied.
The Place AI briefing is a service that summarizes and provides the latest reviews of registered restaurants and cafes on Naver Place using AI.
When searching for specific businesses through the Naver application (app) or map app, AI provides information on representative menu features, the atmosphere and characteristics of the location, and reservation status and precautions based on classified photo information and real user reviews.
Naver stated that businesses that applied the Place AI briefing experienced increased user stay time in the Place search area and activated additional exploratory activities compared to the transfer.
The average user stay time, a key metric indicating user interest in business information, increased by 10.4% compared to the transfer. Additionally, the click-through rate, reflecting users' interest in exploratory activities, rose by 27.4%.
In particular, the click rate for the 'more information' tab, where actual business details can be checked, increased by 137%, while 'more menu' saw a 30% increase.
Users are increasingly moving to the detailed menu tab to explore additional information after confirming well-summarized details via the AI briefing.
Activation of exploration through the Place AI briefing has led to increased reservations and orders, proving to be beneficial for actual business operations.
Naver compared the number of reservations and orders before and after AI briefing exposure for businesses to which the AI briefing was applied, revealing an approximate increase of 8%.
In the future, Naver plans to enhance the search experience by providing answers through AI briefing to queries regarding additional information related to exploration subjects, such as restaurant parking conditions and availability of high chairs.
Moreover, Naver plans to apply the AI briefing not only to restaurants and cafes but also to various industries such as lodging, beauty, and tourist attractions, aiming to expand the coverage for inquiries about locations into double digits by the end of the year.
