Shinsegae I&C announced on the 21st that it will conduct software education donation activities for teenagers to cultivate future artificial intelligence (AI) talent.

Shinsegae I&C has been conducting education donation activities for 12 years, aiming to bridge the information technology (IT) educational gap between regions and nurture creative future AI talent. It has developed a curriculum tailored to teenagers and has provided education to a total of 36,361 students across 361 schools nationwide by last year.

This year, it will also launch the 'Junior Coding Exploration Team' to learn the concepts and principles of AI technology while experiencing related jobs, along with an advanced program, the 'Retail Tech Coding Classroom,' which focuses on practical training based on generative AI. A total of 61 schools, primarily in educationally disadvantaged areas such as Jeollabuk-do, Gangwon-do, and Jeju, have been selected for the project. The plan is to provide education to more than 3,900 teenagers by December.

In particular, the 'Retail Tech Coding Classroom' has been enhanced to go beyond simple IT skills training, incorporating the latest IT technologies such as generative AI, machine learning, and near-field communication (NFC) to solve real-world retail problems through hands-on learning. Through this, it is expected that teenagers will be able to learn creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration capabilities.

Yang Yoon-ji, CEO of Shinsegae I&C, said, "We will continue to engage in sincere educational donation activities so that the teenagers who will lead the rapidly changing future AI era can experience new IT technologies and grow into creative and ethical talents."
