Samsung Electronics announced on the 21st that it has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI)-based "remote diagnosis of home appliances" (HRM) service to over 120 countries.

Introduced in Korea in 2020, this service analyzes the status of products connected to the smart home platform SmartThings using AI, allowing consultants to provide engineer-level diagnostics and advice.

Since last year, pilot operations have been conducted in 10 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, where English is spoken. This year, the support languages for the service will expand to a total of 17 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic, making it available in over 120 countries.

By using the remote diagnosis service for home appliances, users can receive professional diagnostics without explaining the unusual condition of the product, and solve problems without on-site service, saving time and expense.

Products with screens, such as family hub refrigerators equipped with a 32-inch screen, refrigerators with AI home touch screens, and washing machines, can also receive remote diagnosis through screen sharing.

Yumi Young, vice president of Samsung Electronics' DA division, said, "In the future, we will strengthen the formula of 'AI appliances = Samsung' with differentiated products and services that apply AI, and increase customer satisfaction."
