KT and the KT labor union agreed on a collective bargaining proposal that includes a 3% increase in the basic salary.
The KT labor union announced on the 21st that it had passed the tentative agreement on collective bargaining with a 90.83% approval rate after a vote by its members.
The management and labor reached a tentative agreement on the 18th that centers on a 3% increase in the basic salary and a one-time payment of 3 million won. This increase is less than half of the 6.3% increase demanded by the union and is lower than last year's increase of 3.5%.
The collective bargaining proposal also included measures to improve personnel and welfare systems. The requirement to maintain a position for two years before being promoted to Director General has been abolished, and employees nearing retirement will be granted 60 days of paid leave one year in advance. The mobile phone support funds will also be autonomized as either fee support or device support.
The management and labor agreed to revisit the holiday bonuses to be set at a level of 100,000 to 200,000 won in the fourth quarter of this year.
