On the 20th, Kakao Impact, a Kakao corporations foundation, announced that it will incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) ethics content into the 'Visiting School Education' program curriculum and begin recruiting schools to participate in the second semester.
Kakao has reflected AI ethics education in the curriculum of the child and youth digital citizenship education program 'A Good Digital World,' celebrating its 10th anniversary in partnership with The Blue Tree Foundation. Students will examine cases of AI misuse and cultivate responsible digital citizenship through discussions and participatory learning.
School recruitment will be conducted until 5 p.m. on the 26th. The updated curriculum will be applied to 650 classes and 14,000 elementary school students selected nationwide, considering regional balance, and the results will be announced on the 9th of next month.
A trial operation of the Nuri curriculum for kindergarteners (ages 5-7) will also take place. The Nuri curriculum is expected to recruit through city and provincial education offices nationwide by the end of next month. From October to November, play-based digital citizenship education will be provided to 1,500 children across the country, considering developmental stages.
In addition, 'A Good Digital World' has introduced familiar Kakao Friends characters into its teaching materials to enhance learning immersion and motivation, and has refreshed its logo and homepage.
