ESTsoft supports the globalization of leading Hallyu dramas and entertainment programs through artificial intelligence (AI) dubbing.
On the 20th, ESTsoft announced that it has been selected as the executing organization for the K-FAST project aimed at the global dissemination of K-content, and will intensify AI dubbing to localize popular domestic content, including Hallyu dramas and entertainment.
The K-FAST support project is a venture established by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Information & Communication Association, combining advertisement-based free streaming TV with localization technologies such as AI dubbing to build a foundation for the global dissemination of K-media and content. With a total scale of 8 billion won, participating entities include broadcasters and AI media technology corporations.
ESTsoft has been selected as the lead organization for the specialized support project for AI dubbing aimed at localizing K-content. The consortium, led by ESTsoft, includes AI technology companies SuperTone, Gaudio Lab, Strara, and 4BY4, along with content media companies SBS, MBC, and KBS, as well as streaming service corporations K2NT and Smart Media Lab.
Cooperating companies supporting the TV platform include Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, with content provision partners such as KT ENA, Chorokbaem Media, and D.Live. AI language data and solutions firm Flitto is also involved. In June, ESTsoft and Flitto signed a work agreement for the joint utilization of AI data and technology aimed at the global dissemination of K-content.
With this selection, the ESTsoft consortium will promote AI dubbing for 200 hours of K-content representing Korea, including the Hallyu drama 'I'm Sorry, I Love You' and entertainment programs 'I Am Solo', 'Along with the Gods: Season 2', and 'eSports League Highlights'.
AI dubbing will be conducted through PERSO.ai, a global software as a service (SaaS) platform operated by ESTsoft. The company explained, "Using advanced AI technology, we plan to produce localized K-content that enhances immersion by accurately representing the speaker's tone, intonation, and even non-verbal expressions." The content with completed AI dubbing will be launched in countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico, and Singapore through four K-channels built for genres such as drama, entertainment, gaming, and travel.
ESTsoft's CEO Jung Sang-won said, "I expect the K-FAST support project will be a critical turning point in expanding PERSO.ai's global market and enhancing our competitiveness," adding, "We will ensure that overseas viewers can fully experience the charm of K-content through advanced AI dubbing technology."
