On the 19th, the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) announced the launch of the 'Meta Llama Academy' in collaboration with Meta and Upstage. They are recruiting the first cohort of trainees for the 'LLM Agent & On-Device AI Workshop' until the 17th of next month.
The Meta Llama Academy is a practical AI advanced talent development program that RAPA is launching in collaboration with Meta, making it the first of its kind in the country. The program aims to produce professionals with specialized skills and practical experience who will lead the next-generation AI innovation in collaboration with the domestic AI corporations Upstage.
The LLM Agent & On-Device AI Workshop held at the academy is designed to allow participants to intensively acquire the latest generative AI technology and on-device LLM utilization skills in a short period. The training will consist of ▲ Day 1: Experience the concept and application of LLM agents ▲ Day 2: Practical training to improve model performance using the Meta Llama model ▲ Day 3: Development of AI services through group projects. Anyone interested in AI development, including developers and related majors with programming skills, can apply.
Through document screening, the applicant's willingness to participate and expertise will be comprehensively evaluated, and online foundational educational materials will also be provided for non-majors. Selected trainees will receive a graphics processing unit (GPU) laptop, top-level expert lectures, and mentoring free of charge.
The outcomes completed in the group project on the third day will be presented and demonstrated directly in front of representatives from Meta and Upstage. One team will receive the grand prize (1 million won), and two teams will receive the excellence award (each 500,000 won). Award-winning teams will be granted a certificate along with an exemption from the document screening for internships at Upstage for all excellent teams.
RAPA plans to discover and nurture talent who can apply the latest LLM technology in practice through this program, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic AI industry and laying the groundwork for global expansion.
