SK hynix is transforming its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy into AI-based social contributions that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technology to address social issues.
On the 19th, SK hynix introduced its AI-based social contribution strategy, including the vision of 'AI for humanity, CSR for people,' along with ▲ fostering talent to lead AI innovation ▲ establishing an AI-responsive social safety net ▲ creating a social change platform that integrates AI/tech and people.
First, to foster talent leading AI innovation, the company plans to fully implement an integrated education program aimed at enhancing AI literacy and cultivating practical AI talents.
This program is an all-in-one educational model that organically links educational content, practical experiences, learning spaces, and equipment, covering the entire process from basic understanding of AI to practical application.
It will provide problem-solving-oriented AI education and EduTech-based career exploration opportunities for elementary, middle, and high school students, while also preparing competency enhancement courses for teachers and instructors.
Additionally, to establish an AI-responsive social safety net, the company plans to evolve existing diverse social contribution programs into a preventive, inclusive, and sophisticated social safety net by integrating AI technology.
Next month, the 'Happy Lunchbox' will be revamped to incorporate personalized meal consulting and data-driven smart care through an AI nutritionist feature.
Moreover, through the transformation of social contributions to AI, SK hynix aims to develop into a social change platform for solving social issues by collaborating with local communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and social enterprises.
At the beginning of next year, it plans to hold the 'CSR x AI Forum' to share advanced best practices for AI-based CSR and facilitate expert networking among corporations.
SK hynix plans to showcase its AI-based social contribution activities and examples of social value creation at the '2nd Korea Social Value Festa' to be held on the 25th and 26th in the COEX in Gangnam, Seoul.
Kim Jong-il, vice president in charge of external affairs at SK hynix, noted, 'As it is a time when a fundamental change is also needed in social contributions to align with AI-centric management strategies and technological transitions, SK hynix will incorporate AI into all social contributions to develop effective AI-based social contribution models.'
