This year, a 'citizen review panel' is being recruited to select the winners of the 'Broadcasting and Communications Commission Broadcasting Awards.'
The Broadcasting and Communications Commission noted on the 18th that it has begun the process of reflecting public opinions in the selection of broadcasting awards. The awards aim to enhance the creative motivation of broadcasters and improve the quality of broadcasting programs by selecting outstanding programs produced and aired in the country over the past year. Individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of broadcasting culture will be awarded.
The works that pass the preliminary screening among the submissions for the broadcasting awards will be evaluated by the citizen review panel. Any citizen of the Republic of Korea who is 19 years old or older can apply to the citizen review panel.
The application period runs from today until September 1. The commission will select a total of 12 members for the citizen review panel, considering factors such as the applicants' age, gender, region, diversity, and experience in participating in review panels.
The broadcasting awards will designate a total of 15 works, including one grand prize and one excellence award, as well as nine outstanding awards and four special awards in the following five institutional sectors: ▲ social and cultural development ▲ creativity and innovation ▲ expansion of the Korean Wave ▲ regional development ▲ online video services (OTT), web, and app content.
