Google Play announced on the 18th that it successfully completed the global training program 'Immersion Trip,' which was held at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, San Francisco, from the 13th to the 15th as part of its 'Gateway Program' supporting Korean app and game startups.
This program saw participation from a total of 15 startups, including the outstanding developers of Gateway Batch 7 and graduating companies, which experienced various local sessions focused on strategies for entering the U.S. and global markets, market insights, and networking.
Participating corporations include ▲ Jam Jam Therapeutics ▲ Detail Games ▲ Munis ▲ Sigma Studio ▲ Supervillain Labs ▲ Lydock ▲ iKlo ▲ Pomelo ▲ Nomad Health ▲ Money Guard Services Co., Ltd. ▲ Liberty Dust ▲ Atelier Mirage Co., Ltd. ▲ Triggers ▲ Code Crayon ▲ Ease, and they are promising startups active in various fields such as mobile gaming, artificial intelligence (AI)-based healthcare, travel, finance, and education.
This training was structured around practical content, including analysis of the U.S. startup ecosystem and app and game market, marketing strategies, monetization methods, and networking with Silicon Valley investors. Various experts led the sessions, including Matt Lydon, head of Google Startup Accelerator, Michelle Tan and Eun-Joo Lee from Google Play, and Mindy Stanislawiters, senior vice president of MFG US.
In addition, Scott Xiao, senior investment officer at Goodwater Capital, shared insights on the investment methods of U.S. venture capital and funding strategies in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), along with a fireside chat featuring experts with experience entering the U.S. market, such as NC America and Beats Film.
Han Seo-yoon, the CEO of Pomelo, said, "While providing services to global users, I had some ambiguity about the U.S. market, but this Immersion Trip allowed me to clarify our direction."
