Samsung Electronics introduced various latest HVAC solutions at the Asia Air Conditioning Conference 'ASHRAE Region XIII Chapters Regional Conference 2025' held at the Suwon Convention Center from the 15th to the 16th.
The Asia Air Conditioning Conference, hosted by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), which has over 100 years of history, brought together air conditioning experts from around the world to discuss future technologies, with participation from 11 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia showcasing the latest products and technologies.
Samsung Electronics displayed the home system air conditioner new product '1Way Cassette' and high-efficiency system air conditioner 'DVM' at the event. Notably, the 1Way Cassette is a model newly launched this year in Southeast Asian markets like Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing control via SmartThings and the AI voice assistant Bixby without the need for additional equipment. Users can easily execute various functions such as indoor temperature and humidity control with voice commands, and by utilizing 'AI saving mode,' they can reduce energy consumption by up to 20%.
Additionally, an eco-friendly refrigerant R32 has been applied, lowering the Global Warming Potential (GWP) by about 32% compared to the existing refrigerant R410A, thereby enhancing sustainability.
Samsung Electronics is expanding its B2B heating and cooling solution business, focusing on premium residential complexes, public facilities, upscale resorts, and hotels in the Southeast Asia region. Last year, system air conditioner sales in the Southeast Asian market increased by more than 20% compared to the previous year, and the 1Way Cassette model recorded over 35% growth.
Baek Hye-seong, executive director of Samsung Electronics' DA division, noted, "It is significant to participate in a conference hosted by ASHRAE, which boasts over 100 years of tradition," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our air conditioning business competitiveness globally, including in Southeast Asia, based on smart consolidation experiences and unparalleled technological capabilities."
