Tmap Mobility announced on the 14th that its operating loss for the second quarter was 3.8 billion won, a reduction from the same period last year (9.8 billion won). Revenue was 69.3 billion won, a decrease of 14.7% compared to the same period last year.
Tmap Mobility focused on growing its high-growth data-driven mobility business with the goal of transforming into an "artificial intelligence (AI) mobility corporation." As a result, the company noted that profitability has improved. According to Tmap, the second quarter's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) was 800 million won, with net income at 59.4 billion won, marking the first quarter in its history to achieve EBITDA surplus.
Platform indicators also improved. Tmap's monthly active users (MAU) exceeded 15 million, and the AI-based location recommendation service "Where to Go" surpassed 25 million cumulative users. A Tmap representative explained, "As a result of introducing new features like recommended driving lanes and traffic light guidance, we enhanced the navigation customer experience."
Lee Jae-hwan, CEO of Tmap Mobility, said, "Achieving the first quarter EBITDA surplus in the history of the company is the fruit of management centered on data and solutions," adding, "In the second half, we will also focus on accelerating the growth of the mobility data business and strengthening AI integration to foster high-growth businesses and maintain sustainable growth."
