Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jeon Young-Hyun of the Device Solutions (DS) institutional sector and President Roh Tae-Moon, acting head of the Device Experience (DX) institutional sector, have reportedly received more than 1.1 billion won in compensation in the first half of this year.
According to the semi-annual report disclosed by Samsung Electronics on the 14th, Vice Chairman Jeon received a salary of 897 million won, a bonus of 256 million won, and other earned income of 37 million won, totaling 1.19 billion won. President Roh received a salary of 809 million won, a bonus of 351 million won, and other earned income of 35 million won, totaling 1.195 billion won.
The late former Vice Chairman Han Jong-Hee, who passed away in March, received 8.558 billion won in retirement income, a salary of 465 million won, a bonus of 4.535 billion won, and other earned income of 30 million won, totaling 13.407 billion won. Mauro Porcini, who joined in April as Chief Design Officer (CDO) of the DX institutional sector, received 3.473 billion won.
Vice President Jeong Jae-Wook of the Visual Display (VD) business division and advisory member Jang Woo-Seung, along with Vice President Lee Hae-Chang of the System LSI business division, each received 2.838 billion won, 2.793 billion won, and 2.097 billion won respectively, making them among the top five recipients following the late Vice Chairman Han and President Mauro.
The total number of employees in the first half was 129,524, and their average salary was 60 million won.
Meanwhile, Chairman Lee Jae-Yong has continued his management activities without compensation since 2017.
