SK AX (formerly SK C&C) reported on the 14th that it recorded separate sales of 650.5 billion won and an operating profit of 51.1 billion won in the second quarter of 2025, representing increases of 3.2% and 58.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. The company explained that these results are the fruits of growth in domestic and foreign digital Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects, the success of customer-centric AI Transformation (AX) initiatives, and improvements in overall operations and structural innovations.
In the first half of this year (January to June), separate sales amounted to 1.2335 trillion won, with an operating profit of 79 billion won, which represents a 0.4% increase in sales and a 32.1% rise in operating profit compared to the same period last year. The strategy focused on strengthening AX capabilities and improving the revenue structure, rather than short-term sales expansion, led to the increase in operating profit.
Following the first quarter, SK AX continued to achieve stable outcomes in the second quarter by focusing on digital manufacturing innovation, digital transformation (DX) in the financial sector, and industry-specific AI and cloud transitions as core drivers of AX growth. Notably, the customer-centric operational improvements initiated last year and the use of AI tools contributed significantly to performance enhancements.
SK AX is identifying areas where AI can yield actual results for various industries and is implementing them as field-centered application models. Through intelligent AI "Agentic AI," the company is redesigning customer work structures and processes, and is also integrating AI into core management systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
In the manufacturing sector, SK AX is building a "digital manufacturing innovation model" that allows AI to learn from the expertise of skilled workers and convert it into digital assets. The company is also applying AX to the logistics area, which affects factory operation efficiency, simultaneously improving productivity and quality. In the financial sector, it offers AI-based platforms and service enhancements to large banks and securities firms, supporting comprehensive innovation from customer interactions to internal operations.
A SK AX official noted, "Since the name change, we have accelerated innovation in AI-centered organization, processes, and technology under the banner 'Being AX,' and we will continue to expand references across key industries such as manufacturing, finance, and public services, aiming to become the best AX partner that builds the future of our customers with innovative models that combine AI and cloud."
