NHN Cloud announced on the 14th that it has strengthened its ongoing zero trust security system with the launch of 'Cloud Access.'
Cloud Access is an agent-based service that supports customers who have adopted NHN Cloud to securely access cloud resources. Users can connect the agent from their company or externally and create an encrypted tunnel to the customer's service configured within the cloud, ensuring a secure access environment.
This service is based on a zero trust security model, which protects infrastructure by not trusting any users or systems, enhancing security through continuous verification and access control. Zero trust does not inherently trust internal systems like before and always checks and verifies every access attempt. Even after initial authentication upon first access, continuous device verification, real-time monitoring, and logging are employed to detect anomalies and policy violations, increasing security through reauthentication requirements or access blocking.
Additionally, due to the nature of the cloud-based solution that does not require physical equipment, management efforts can be reduced compared to on-premises setups, and as it is an in-house service of NHN Cloud, it boasts high compatibility. Notably, it offers a significant advantage in providing an enhanced security environment while enabling efficient management when important security clients, such as public institutions, implement cloud services into their operational networks using private IP.
With this launch, NHN Cloud has added a pillar to its zero trust system. In October 2023, it had previously released the cloud-exclusive network firewall 'NHN Cloud Network Firewall,' and plans to continuously elevate its zero trust security system through the integration of both services.
Kim Dong-hoon, CEO of NHN Cloud, stated, "With the launch of Cloud Access following the NHN Cloud Network Firewall, we have established a zero trust environment that extends to the user client area. We will continue our efforts to build a complete zero trust environment, working to provide highly reliable cloud services."
