WEBZEN announced on the 13th that it has unveiled the teaser website for its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "R2 Origin" and is preparing for its release.
"R2 Origin" is a new MMORPG that inherits the game mechanics of WEBZEN's steady seller intellectual property (IP) "R2," and is being developed by WEBZEN's subsidiary, WEBZEN Redcore, with a goal for release in the second half of this year. The latest graphics engine, Unreal Engine 5, has been utilized in production, allowing users on both mobile and PC platforms to enjoy the game simultaneously. Furthermore, the game has enhanced a seamless play experience that focuses on actual gameplay leading to character growth, rather than item purchases.
Beginning at 2 p.m. that day, WEBZEN will unveil the teaser website and a 30-second video while starting pre-registration. WEBZEN also noted that it plans to release other games this year, including the open-world action RPG "Dragon Sword" and the idle game "MU: Pocket Knights," based on the "MU" IP.
