KT announced on the 11th that it plans to launch a Korean artificial intelligence (AI) model applying Azure Confidential Computing (ACC) in the second half of the year.
Jan Min, KT's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), noted during a second-quarter earnings conference call held on the afternoon of the 11th that they are 'continuing to develop products based on the MS collaboration.'
KT applied the interactive AI service 'Genie TV AI Agent' to 'Genie TV' last July. It was implemented using a large language model (LLM) based on Microsoft's (MS) 'Azure OpenAI Service.'
KT reported its second-quarter revenue at 7.4274 trillion won, marking a 13.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The operating profit for the second quarter was 1.01 trillion won, up 105.4% from the previous year. This is the first time KT's quarterly operating profit has exceeded 1 trillion won.
