KRAFTON's creative studio 5MINLAB announced on the 11th that its emotional cleaning simulation 'Undusted: Letters from the Past' (hereafter referred to as 'Undusted') is set to be released for Nintendo Switch in October.
The Nintendo Switch version of 'Undusted' was announced on the 7th through 'Nintendo Indie World,' which showcases indie games scheduled for release on Nintendo consoles. The PC version is also expected to be released in October via Steam.
'Undusted' is a game where players clean and restore rusty and old items, using various cleaning tools like sponges and toothbrushes to bring back the original appearances of nostalgic objects such as teacups and cassette players. Players can carefully clean by directly checking the contaminated areas, and when the restoration progress graph at the bottom of the screen is filled to 100%, the stage is completed.
The game's protagonist, 'Adora,' returns to her hometown due to her mother's passing, and confronts her past memories while organizing neglected items. The narrative conveys her understanding of her estranged mother through the restoration process.
Users can feel a calm and stable sense of immersion while restoring items. The pixel art-based graphics, the subtle sound effects of the cleaning tools, and the lyrical background music combine to provide a comfortable audiovisual experience. With a structure free of competition or failure elements, anyone can enjoy it without burden.
Currently, 'Undusted' is offering a demo on Steam.
