Fortinet Korea announced on the 11th that it will significantly improve and expand its cloud infrastructure, 'FortiCloud.'
In this update, Fortinet has included three new cloud-based security services optimized for a hybrid work environment. The beta versions of 'FortiIdentity,' which provides identity management features, 'FortiDrive,' which supports secure file storage and collaboration, and 'FortiConnect' for unified communication, were introduced. All three services are integrated with Fortinet's cybersecurity Mesh architecture, 'Fortinet Security Fabric,' enabling a secure work environment without external solutions.
This is part of Fortinet's ongoing investment in its global hybrid cloud infrastructure, built on its data centers established in major locations worldwide. This infrastructure integrates computing, storage, recovery, and security functions, designed to reliably deliver low-latency, high-performance services across regions. It also allows data to be stored locally in each country, effectively responding to increasing data sovereignty demands.
Fortinet operates over 160 Points of Presence (PoP) worldwide, including major infrastructure partners such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Digital Realty. A company representative noted, "This allows us to ensure service continuity and resilience against disruptions in specific regions, while also providing flexibility for easy access to a variety of Fortinet's security services through major cloud marketplaces."
The expansion of FortiCloud further reinforces Fortinet's integrated security platform strategy. It offers integration of security tools, reduction of operational complexity, and total cost of ownership (TCO) savings, particularly focused on essential security elements for a hybrid work environment.
