LG Uplus recently announced on the 10th that it has signed a 'Telecommunications Financial Fraud Damage Prevention Agreement' with Woori Bank to prevent financial damage to customers resulting from the recent surge in voice phishing crimes.
This agreement was signed to ensure close cooperation between the financial and telecommunications sectors in preventing damage to citizens and proactively responding to the rapidly increasing new types of fraud. LG Uplus and Woori Bank plan to establish a collaborative system to work together in preventing voice phishing damage and to ensure that such crimes do not lead to actual financial losses.
Specifically, the two companies will jointly promote initiatives such as ▲ sharing information on voice phishing fraud methods and victim cases ▲ real-time operational support to prevent damage spread ▲ discovering collaboration tasks through regular consultation bodies and establishing detailed execution plans ▲ and developing joint countermeasures to prevent other financial fraud.
Through this collaboration with Woori Bank, LG Uplus has established a system that can proactively block voice phishing attempts and prevent financial damage.
Choi Yoon-ho, head of LG Uplus's AI Agent Promotion Group (executive director), said, "Close cooperation between financial institutions and telecommunications companies is essential to preemptively block voice phishing damage," adding, "In the future, LG Uplus will establish itself as the telecommunications company most dedicated to security by supporting customers' safe communication and financial lives."
