Smilegate announced on the 8th that it has signed a global publishing contract for the action roguelike game 'Player Who Can't Level Up,' based on the popular webtoon of the same name on KakaoPage.
The game 'Player Who Can't Level Up' was developed by Triple A Games based on the webtoon of the same name serialized on KakaoPage. The story centers around the protagonist "Kim Ki-kyu," who cannot level up and evolves his combat style through "ego fragments," featuring a unique growth structure. The game's strength lies in the roguelike characteristic of repetitive play, which creates new combinations and strategies each time.
'Player Who Can't Level Up' is made with Unreal Engine 5, providing high-quality 3D graphics and a free camera perspective.
Smilegate's 'Player Who Can't Level Up' will be available at the Stove booth during the 'Busan Indie Connect Festival 2025,' held from the 15th to the 17th at BEXCO in Busan.
Lee Seung-hwan, a director at Smilegate, said, "This new title is expected to set a new standard for action games in a console environment, based on a globally beloved webtoon intellectual property (IP)."
