LG Uplus announced on the 7th that it has revamped the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of its IPTV service 'U+tv' to reduce the time customers spend searching for live channels. The changes have been gradually implemented since July and will be applied to all customers by the end of this year.
First, the option UI has been revamped to allow customers to access convenience features for live channels all in one place. The key change is integrating various live channel features, previously scattered across different menus, into the remote control's 'options' button to enhance accessibility.
U+tv customers can easily use related features by pressing the 'options' button while watching a live channel, including ▲Instant ON/OFF for vision protection, child protection, and preferred channel modes ▲Setting preferred channels/hiding channels ▲Viewing the program schedule/channel at a glance ▲Simultaneous viewing of 2 channels, 4 channels, and by genre.
Customers can now search for desired channels via voice while watching live channels. By pressing the microphone button at the top left of the program schedule menu and saying the desired content, they can find live channels currently broadcasting that content.
In the future, LG Uplus plans to support customers in quickly exploring content through UI/UX revamps centered on live channels and to continuously improve overall service satisfaction.
Additionally, to effectively address customer inconvenience, the company plans to actively reflect the opinions presented at its annual viewer committee.
