Dyson announced on the 5th that it will launch hair beauty products containing sunflower seed oil cultivated directly by Dyson.
The Dyson Omega™ Nourishing Collection, consisting of two types (oil and spray), is Dyson's first "Farm to Formulation" product utilizing ingredients grown directly at Dyson's farm located in Lincolnshire, England.
Dyson entered the agricultural sector in 2012 under the name "Dyson Farming" to promote sustainable food production. Currently, Dyson Farming has grown into the largest agricultural corporation in the UK, with approximately 145 square kilometers (44.06 million pyeong) of cultivated land.
It produces strawberries, wheat, barley, and potatoes, and has established itself as one of the top five food producers in the UK. Additionally, Dyson's sunflower farm, covering an area of 90,000 square meters (27,225 pyeong), has over 800,000 sunflowers growing.
The Dyson Omega™ Nourishing Collection uses sunflowers grown at Dyson's farm, as Dyson has focused on the unique chemical properties of sunflowers.
The Dyson Farming team conducted various experiments to ensure that the effective ingredients in sunflower seeds harvested from Dyson's farm achieved optimal balance. They tested over 60 varieties to identify the sunflower variety richest in natural ceramides, and after planting the seeds, they conducted regular soil tests, adjusted micronutrient balances, and observed crop growth to create optimal ingredients.
The Dyson Omega™ Nourishing Collection includes "Dyson Oli7™ Blend," a key ingredient developed independently by Dyson. It consists of seven types of plant oils, including sunflower seed oil cultivated at Dyson's farm, macadamia oil, abyssinian oil, avocado oil, olive oil, corn oil, and sesame oil.
Each oil component is blended in optimal ratios to provide nutrients and moisture to the hair instantly, resulting in a reported improvement in hair breakage by 94%.
