NHN PAYCO announced that it will officially introduce the PAYCO easy payment service at Starbucks locations nationwide starting on the 4th. This follows the initial introduction of PAYCO meal voucher payments last October, which has now been expanded to general payments.
Users can generate a barcode in the PAYCO app and then scan it at Starbucks locations to make a payment. Payment methods can be chosen from PAYCO points or credit/debit cards registered in the app.
However, some locations, including the Incheon Airport branch, are excluded from the easy payment service.
With this revamp, the convenience of PAYCO meal vouchers has also improved. Previously, only the meal voucher could be used alone, causing inconvenience when there was insufficient balance. Now, with a single barcode scan, the meal voucher balance will be deducted first, and any shortfall will be automatically charged to points or credit/debit cards.
To celebrate the introduction of payments, a Starbucks-exclusive promotion will also be held. From the 4th to the 31st of this month, when making payments of 10,000 won or more using PAYCO points, 1,000 won or 2,500 won in PAYCO points will be credited, respectively. Participants can join once a day, with a maximum of three times during the period.
A representative from NHN PAYCO said, "Since the introduction of meal voucher payments last year, we have received a strong response, and Starbucks has established itself as a representative franchise where meal vouchers are actively used," adding, "We will continue to work hard on improving features and expanding customer benefits based on close collaboration between the two companies."
