Naver announced on the 1st that it will start a service to enhance Japanese restaurant information by partnering with Tabelog, Japan's largest restaurant information platform. Through this collaboration, Naver will integrate Tabelog's data to improve the experience of discovering Japanese restaurants. Tabelog is a popular platform that provides information on over 880,000 restaurants across Japan along with vivid reviews.
Naver Place utilizes Tabelog's data to provide information on popular restaurants in major Japanese regions, allowing users to check details such as the restaurant's location, menu, prices, photos, and operating hours. Notably, information that is difficult to verify in existing searches, such as whether children are allowed or whether easy payment options are supported, is also provided in Korean. Some restaurants have added a feature that allows direct reservations through links to Tabelog.
This service will focus on popular restaurants in key regions such as Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, and Fukuoka, with plans to expand the range of bookable restaurants by the end of the year. Additionally, it will be combined with Naver's travel content that provides Japanese restaurant information, offering users a more complete exploration experience. Naver aims to optimize searches related to travel content in Japan and enhance the travel experience through this initiative.
