KT announced on the 1st that it is expanding its roaming benefits exclusively for China and Japan in time for the summer vacation season and conducting special promotions for its customers.
KT has increased the data usage convenience of its exclusive products to allow customers to use roaming services more conveniently and economically in China and Japan, which are the most frequented travel destinations. The existing budget roaming service for China and Japan offered 2.5GB of data for 25,000 won (5 days) and was automatically blocked when exhausted, but now users can continue at a speed of 400Kbps.
KT will double the benefits through promotions until Oct. 31. Customers who subscribe to the budget roaming for China and Japan will receive a total of 5GB of data, which includes the basic 2.5GB plus an additional 2.5GB, and 60 minutes of free roaming currency is also provided. All these benefits will be automatically applied to subscribing customers.
Additionally, KT is maintaining its collaboration with China Mobile in China and NTT Docomo in Japan, and plans to provide shopping and dining benefits through a partnership among the three companies.
The 'shared roaming' product allows one person to subscribe and share data with up to five lines, making it useful for traveling companions. Customers can choose from plans ranging from 4GB to 12GB, and customers under 34 years old can enjoy greater benefits.
The voice and text roaming service called 'safe roaming' is also receiving a positive response. This service is applied automatically without a separate application and allows calls and text messages at domestic rates in 64 countries worldwide.
