Kakao's Kakao Friends will launch a summer limited theme 'Nyang Nyang Special' merchandise.
Kakao announced on the 31st that it will present emoticons and merchandise with the concept of Kakao Friends character Chunsik transforming into ghosts from various countries and create a special themed space in its Hongdae flagship store.
The Nyang Nyang Special theme consists of five 'Chunsik Ghost' characters: 'Ghost Chun', 'Mummy Chun', 'Lady Chun', 'Franken Chun-tine', and 'Nine-Tail Chun'. They are reinterpreted in Chunsik's unique, quirky, and cute style rather than as scary ghosts.
Kakao first unveiled emoticons using the Nyang Nyang Special characters on the 28th. Starting from the 31st, a total of 14 different products including pillows, keychains, random figures, and handkerchiefs will be available through Kakao Friends online and offline stores.
The Kakao Friends flagship store in Mapo District, Seoul, is themed 'The (Not Scary) House of Ghosts' and will showcase a unique store concept until September 9. The setting features Chunsik dressed as a ghost running the store, with visual elements placed throughout the space to enhance immersion.
Kakao will also host various online and offline events to celebrate the launch of the Nyang Nyang Special theme.
