Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics' home appliances and TVs won major awards in the '2025 Ergonomic Design Awards' organized by the Korean Ergonomics Society.
Samsung Electronics noted on the 30th that its 2025 model 'Bespoke AI Dishwasher' has been named the best product (Best of Best) in ergonomic design awards. The 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator and the 'Bespoke AI Steam' robotic vacuum cleaner received special awards.
This year marks the 25th Ergonomic Design Awards, recognized as the most prestigious award in the field of ergonomic design in Korea, evaluating the usability, efficiency, safety, and sensory quality of products from the consumer's perspective.
The Bespoke AI Dishwasher, which received the best product award, features an 'Auto Open Door' that opens at a gentle touch.
Additionally, it features a 'Glide Rail' on the upper internal shelf, allowing users to smoothly open and close heavy dish baskets with minimal effort.
Moreover, practical internal designs such as a 'Cup Custom Cleaning Zone' designed to clean inside cups thoroughly, a 'Large Capacity Custom Shelf' specialized for storing noodles and rice bowls, and a 'Frying Pan Holder' for vertical storage were also highly regarded.
The Bespoke AI Hybrid refrigerator also features an Auto Open Door, allowing seniors and children to easily open the door with a light touch. A 9-inch touchscreen that allows users to check and control various connected appliances and devices in the home received good reviews.
LG Electronics received a total of seven awards, including the best product award, making it the most awarded corporation for the second consecutive year.
The LG robotic vacuum cleaner won the best product award, while the 'LG My Cup', a tumbler washer, and the world's first wireless transparent TV, 'LG Signature OLED T', received the best innovation award.
The LG My Cup was recognized for its ergonomic design excellence, helping users to easily wash and dry tumblers with simple operation. This product can wash the inside and outside of tumblers and lids simultaneously with rotating washing wings and high-pressure water at 65 degrees.
The LG Signature OLED T allows users to switch between 'Black Screen' and 'Transparent Screen' modes with just a remote control, enjoying the overwhelming picture quality of OLED and the differentiated video experience unique to transparent screens like augmented reality.
In particular, it applies a wireless AV transmission solution that transmits 4K 144Hz videos without loss or delay, enabling installation without spatial restrictions.
Additionally, the LG AI Magic Remote, webOS AI user experience platform, LG Smart Monitor Swing, and LG Objet Collection refrigerator received special awards.
