SOOP announced on the 30th that its second-quarter revenue for 2005 was 116.9 billion won, with an operating profit of 30 billion won. Compared to the same period last year, the revenue increased by 15%, but the operating profit decreased by 10%.
SOOP stated that the second-quarter platform revenue was 84.5 billion won, and the advertising revenue was 30.8 billion won. In particular, the advertising revenue increased by about 76% compared to the same period last year due to the growth of content-type advertising and the consolidation effect from the digital advertising agency "PlayD," which joined in March.
Among the expenses, personnel costs reached 30.5 billion won, which is a 33% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, advertising commission payments amounted to 9.5 billion won, marking a 38% increase.
Meanwhile, the combined revenue and operating profit for the first half of the year, including the first and second quarters, were 224.5 billion won and 62.8 billion won, respectively. Both figures increased by 15% and 1% compared to the same period last year.
A SOOP official explained, "To secure long-term competitiveness based on the platform, we have set the tasks of advancing artificial intelligence (AI) services, restructuring our technology systems, and expanding into global markets, and we plan to establish the foundation across our technology and operations."
