Kakao Entertainment announced on the 29th that it will hold the '2025 Webtoon Feedback Day' for a total of about 30 people, including students from 19 industry-academic collaboration universities and general aspiring creators, on the 20th.
The Webtoon Feedback Day is a mentoring program where aspiring writers meet one-on-one with Kakao Webtoon producers to check the strengths and areas for improvement of the works they submitted. Even before formal serialization, it allows writers to refine the direction and completeness of their works, providing practical help in growing as new writers. The 2023 program participant Jung Eon was able to submit 'X-like Us' and continue to formal serialization based on the feedback received.
This feedback day expands the eligibility for participation to include not only students from industry-academic collaboration universities but also general aspirants and new writers with less than one year of experience. Applications for the general category will be accepted from July 28 to August 3, and applicants must submit a work proposal and a completed manuscript of one episode. The selection will consist of about five individuals (or teams), and results will be individually announced on August 8. Selected participants will receive feedback for approximately one hour one-on-one with a Kakao Webtoon producer at the Kakao Entertainment headquarters on August 20.
Since 2020, Kakao Entertainment has continued to support aspiring creators through industry-academic collaboration, expanding programs in various ways such as the Super Pass and Super Challenge webtoon competitions, and the Feedback Day. In particular, the Feedback Day began recruiting general applicants in 2023 and has seen high satisfaction among creators, and starting this year, it will be held twice a year.
So far, this program has led to the debut of various new writers, including 'Confess! Destroy! Love!', 'I Will Steal My First Love!', 'Adult Practice', and 'The Veteran Supporting Role's Work Diary.'
A representative from Kakao Entertainment noted, "The program has been designed to help aspiring writers find clues for growth while naturally glimpsing the possibility of consolidation with Kakao Webtoon. We will continue to operate programs that can provide practical opportunities for the creator ecosystem."
