KT announced on the 25th that the renewable energy direct power purchase agreement (direct PPA) project it has been promoting in cooperation with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) has entered the full implementation stage.
KT's Western Regional Headquarters plans to directly supply renewable energy electricity to four demand corporations in the Namdong industrial complex starting in August by signing direct PPA contracts with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX). This electricity will be produced through a 1.2 MW public solar power facility established on the roof of the Incheon Namdong Knowledge Industry Complex.
The Incheon Namdong renewable energy direct PPA project was launched as part of the 'energy self-sufficiency infrastructure establishment and operation project' led by Incheon Technopark, with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Incheon City, in cooperation with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX). It is a model that combines KT's platform technology with the public solar power infrastructure of the industrial complex corporation.
The demand corporations that signed direct PPA contracts with KT are four representative small and medium-sized enterprises of the Namdong industrial complex: EOS, Boseong Metal Industry, Korea Materials, and Hwashin. These corporations have established a foundation to proactively respond to the global supply chain decarbonization requirements through the use of renewable energy.
