KRAFTON announced that Battlegrounds Mobile, operated by the company, will hold the '2025 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC),' an event associated with the Esports World Cup, on the 25th.
The 2025 PMWC will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 25 to August 3, with a total prize pool of $3 million. A total of 24 teams selected from regional professional leagues worldwide will participate, with DRX and Nongshim Redforce representing Korea. DRX qualified by winning PMPS Season 1 of 2025, while Nongshim Redforce secured their spot by winning PMRC Season 1 of 2025.
The tournament will start with the group stage from the 25th to the 27th, where the 24 teams will be divided into three groups and compete in a total of 12 matches. The top eight teams will advance directly to the grand final, while the remaining 16 teams will compete again in the survival stage on the 29th and 30th to determine the top eight teams that will go to the grand final.
The grand final will take place from August 1 to 3, applying the 'smash rule.' At the end of the second day, 'match points' will be set with an additional 10 points added to the cumulative points of the leading team, and the team that first secures a chicken dinner with that point on the third day will be crowned the winner.
During the tournament, prediction events for fans and Instagram cheering comment events have also been prepared. Prizes include DRX merchandise, Nongshim chicken leg snacks, and chicken medals.
Matches will start every day at 8 p.m. Korean time and will be broadcasted through YouTube, TikTok, and Chijijik.
