Netmarble announced on the 24th that it will participate in the opening showcase 'Opening Night Live' of 'Gamescom 2025', the largest game show in Europe, to be held in Cologne, Germany, in August, and will unveil a new video for its upcoming open-world action RPG 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.'
'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' is an open-world action RPG based on the popular animation 'The Seven Deadly Sins', which has surpassed 55 million copies in global sales. It features the protagonist 'Tristan', the son of the original characters 'Meliodas' and 'Elizabeth', and includes a multiverse original story that can only be experienced in the game.
Netmarble plans to showcase cinematic footage reflecting the world and action of 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' during this ONL stage and will surprise audiences with the announcement of key information. Netmarble is developing 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' as a AAA title, and this ONL will be the third official stage to present it to the global market. Previously, Netmarble garnered attention from overseas users by releasing the game's trailer during the global game shows 'Summer Game Fest' and 'Future Game Show' in June.
'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' is set to be released simultaneously on console, PC, and mobile platforms, with the console version available on PlayStation 5 and the PC version to be showcased on the global game distribution platform Steam. Currently, users can register the game on their wish list on the PS Store and Steam pages, and a Q&A for users along with developer notes are being updated sequentially.
Koo Do-hyung, the PD of Netmarble FNC, noted in the developer's note on Steam, 'I wanted to create a world where players can freely explore the land of Britannia and truly immerse themselves in its story,' adding, 'Through a multiverse narrative that combines characters and stories from the original series, we aimed to convey a familiar yet new feeling, and we wanted to emphasize a new dimension for each character by introducing combat styles not seen in the original series.'
