Kakao Entertainment recently announced on the 22nd that the view count for the popular webtoon "Fine," produced as a Disney+ original drama series, has surged.
According to Kakao Entertainment on that day, the view count for the Kakao webtoon "Fine" in the third week of July (July 14-20) increased 58 times compared to the sum from the third week of June (June 16-22) a month prior. Revenue also grew approximately 26 times during the same period.
"Fine" is one of the representative works of writer Yoon Tae-ho, with a cumulative view count of 100 million and more than 22,000 comments. It is published by Supercomix Studio and deals with the desperate story of criminals who gather to dig up treasures buried in the sea off Sinan.
A Kakao Entertainment official noted, "The Disney+ original series "Low Life," adapted from the webtoon "Fine," was released on the 16th, and it appears this has increased the inflow of viewers to the webtoon."
According to the online video service (OTT) platform view ranking site "FlixPatrol," "Low Life" on Disney+ ranked first in the TV shows category in Korea within two days of its release and reached the top three in a total of three countries, including Japan and Taiwan.
"Low Life" is a drama depicting the deceptions and strategies of diligent villagers vying for a sunken treasure ship buried in the sea since 1977. Famous actors such as Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, Im Soo-jung, and Kim Eui-sung actively participate. Following the release of the third episode on the 16th, two episodes will be released on the 23rd, two on the 30th, two on August 6, and two on August 13.
