ChatGPT processes an average of 2.5 billion queries (questions) per day. The commercialization of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, like ChatGPT, has led to a surge in AI searches.
According to TechCrunch and Axios on the 22nd, OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, noted that "ChatGPT receives 2.5 billion prompts (instructions) daily from users around the world, with about 13.2% or 330 million of those coming from the United States."
The average number of queries processed by ChatGPT has more than doubled in 8 months. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, mentioned last December that ChatGPT handles over 1 billion queries on average per day.
As more users utilize AI chatbots like search engines, the number of queries for ChatGPT is closely approaching Google's search volume.
Alphabet, Google's parent company, does not disclose daily search volume data separately, but Google recently stated it handles about 5 trillion searches annually. This translates to roughly 14 billion searches per day. Private market research firms estimate Google's daily search volume to be between 13.7 billion and 16.4 billion.
