Nexon announced on the 22nd that it will hold 'Maple Con 2025', a festival celebrating the intellectual property (IP) of 'MapleStory', in Taiwan in August and in the United States in October.
'Maple Con' is a large-scale franchise festival where the 'MapleStory' IP gathers in one place. The first event, held in December last year at KINTEX in Ilsan, attracted around 10,000 visitors over three days and received significant positive feedback. Building on this success, this year, the festival will expand to Taiwan and the United States in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 'MapleStory' service, planning to engage with local users through new participatory programs and share memories and emotions built around 'MapleStory'.
'MapleStory' has established itself as a global IP loved not only domestically but also overseas, with a cumulative overseas subscriber count reaching about 150 million. Through this overseas hosting of 'Maple Con', Nexon aims to solidify the recognition of the 'MapleStory' IP further and plans to continue expanding the 'MapleStory' IP overseas, including in Korea, starting with 'Maple Con'.
'Maple Con 2025 Taipei', taking place from August 2 to 3 in Taipei, Taiwan, will feature the operation of an official merchandise store, 'Maple Island' themed sculptures and photo booths, merchandise customization programs, user participation stage events, and sales of secondary creations. Additionally, there are plans to challenge the Guinness World Record for the 'largest gathering of human orange mushrooms' with over 2,000 participants, which has garnered significant interest from Taiwanese users, given that a local event in 2017 successfully registered for the Guinness World Record for the 'largest gathering of human maple leaves'.
Later, at the end of October, 'Maple Con Los Angeles 2025' will take place in Los Angeles, California. Similar to the Taiwan event, a variety of enjoyable activities celebrating the 20th anniversary of the global 'MapleStory' service will be arranged, and more detailed information will be released at a later date.
