The previous highest sales record was held by the 'Galaxy Z Fold 5 · Z Flip 5', which recorded 1.02 million units during the pre-sale conducted in August 2023. The 'Galaxy Z Fold 6 · Z Flip 6' was pre-sold for one week in July 2024, with a total of 910,000 units sold.
In the recent pre-orders for the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7' and 'Galaxy Z Flip 7', the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7' accounted for 60% and the 'Galaxy Z Flip 7' for 40% of the sales share, marking an increase in the fold model's share from 40% last year to 60%.
For color selection, the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7' gained popularity with Jet Black and Blue Shadow, while the 'Galaxy Z Flip 7' drew attention with Blue Shadow and Coral Red.
Industry analysts attribute the appeal of the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7 · Z Flip 7' to its slim foldable form factor, hardware innovations, and Galaxy AI features. In particular, the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7' boasts a thickness of 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when opened, weighing 215g, allowing it to be used like a bar-shaped smartphone. The 'Galaxy Z Flip 7' maximizes portability and usability with a 1.25mm slim bezel and a front flex window.
More than half of the customers who pre-purchased on Samsung.com have joined the 'New Galaxy AI Subscription Club', which offers up to 50% residual value guarantee upon device return after one year, smartphone damage insurance, and a 30% discount on genuine mobile accessories when subscribing after purchasing the self-subsidized model.
Customers who pre-purchased will be able to receive and activate their products starting today, and the 'Galaxy Z Fold 7 · Z Flip 7' is expected to be launched worldwide in sequence from July 25 in Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
