SK AX announced on the 22nd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the ASEM Small & Medium Enterprises Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC) to support carbon neutrality for domestic and overseas small and medium-sized enterprises.
Established in 2011, ASEIC is a cooperative organization under the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) that supports eco-friendly technology cooperation and the spread of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices for its 51 member countries. It is currently providing ESG education, consulting, and technology dissemination to approximately 470 participating corporations, and plans to further accelerate these efforts.
Through this agreement, small and medium-sized manufacturing corporations both domestically and internationally facing challenges in ESG practices such as supply chain carbon emission management can more easily solve problems through SK AX's digital platform, 'Click ESG.' 'Click ESG' provides a greenhouse gas inventory management solution that allows users to set carbon emission reduction goals and formulate and manage implementation plans. Through this solution, users can register carbon reduction scenarios and annual roadmaps, and by inputting key data such as power usage, reduction investment costs, and implementation status, they can check real-time goal achievement rates and important statistical information.
For corporations that require advanced ESG responses, such as climate disclosure and supply chain due diligence, customized diagnostic and consulting functions based on Click ESG are also provided. By inputting data related to environmental social governance (ESG) into the Click ESG platform, it offers customized diagnostic results including ▲ Industrial key indicator analysis ▲ Comparison with peers in the same industry ▲ Identification of improvement areas. Subsequently, execution tasks can be continuously managed through score-based simulation. SK AX also offers the 'Click ISO' platform, which supports the efficient acquisition of ISO certification, an international standard for quality, environment, and safety management.
Jeong Gwang-cheon, the director of ASEIC, noted, 'This cooperation will be an important opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises to strengthen their carbon management capabilities to proactively respond to climate risks,' and added, 'Based on the ASEIC network and SK AX's technological capabilities, we will continue to provide systematic support and global expansion.'
Kim Min-hyuk, head of SK AX's Global and Manufacturing Division, said, 'This cooperation will be an opportunity for SK AX to showcase its digital ESG technological capabilities to small and medium-sized enterprises in Asia and Europe,' and continued, 'We will work with ASEIC to create an actionable ESG success model in overseas markets.'
