LG Uplus stated on the 18th that it is fully prepared to provide safe communication and broadcasting services amidst the heavy rain warning in effect nationwide.
LG Uplus has activated an emergency standby system with over 2,400 personnel in its network operation organization nationwide, monitoring network disruptions in real-time 24 hours a day from the integrated control center in Magok, Seoul. It plans to strengthen its emergency response measures according to weather conditions.
Additionally, LG Uplus conducted a prior inspection of emergency generators and backup supplies at national service locations operating communication facilities to prepare for flooding and power outages due to summer downpours. Emergency supplies have been placed at key locations to enable immediate action in the event of facility damage.
Emergency generator operation tests and facility inspections have also been completed in preparation for potential disruptions such as power outages in remote areas.
LG Uplus plans to do its utmost for safety management of base stations, national services, and buildings in preparation for the heavy rain expected to last until the 19th.
