Netmarble plans to continue its success story in the mobile MMORPG market with its ambitious work 'Vampir,' based on a vampire concept.
With the success of 'Raven 2,' released last year, and 'RF Online Next,' unveiled in the first half of this year, which helped solidify its position, the company aims to concentrate its accumulated MMORPG service capabilities into 'Vampir' for another leap forward. In particular, the fact that the core development team of 'Lineage 2: Revolution,' which has been evaluated as raising the level of domestic mobile games, is involved suggests that the development know-how for MMORPGs will be fully utilized.
Netmarble has demonstrated its competitiveness in the MMORPG genre by leading titles such as 'Lineage 2: Revolution' and 'Blade & Soul Revolution' in the mobile gaming market. In particular, the consecutive successes of 'Raven 2' and 'RF Online Next' recently have proven that Netmarble possesses the capability to accurately grasp market trends and meet user needs.
'Raven 2' achieved early success with its launch, reaching 2nd place in Apple App Store revenues and 3rd in Google Play Store revenues, positively impacting Netmarble's Q2 performance. Notably, it demonstrated its strength by maintaining high rankings even amid the bifurcation of mobile and PC revenues.
'RF Online Next' also created a sensation by achieving 1st place in revenues on major markets early in its launch. This success, achieved through a game utilizing its own intellectual property, contributed significantly to revenue improvement and demonstrated genre diversity with its exceptional success in the domestic market as a SF-based MMORPG.
These experiences and know-how from success are expected to be fully reflected in the development and service of 'Vampir.' First, 'Vampir' adopts a structure that separates the areas of 'growth' and 'competition,' allowing for free entry and exit according to play styles. The introduction of inter-server battlefield 'Gehenna,' loser rewards, and a shuffling system is characterized by enhancing the tension of competition and reward satisfaction.
Additionally, the entire economic structure applies the 'reverse fortune' BM system to create an environment where even non-paying users can grow sufficiently while focusing on user protection to ensure long-term ecosystem stability.
The issue of bots, which negatively impacts the game's economic system, will be addressed by introducing a system validated in multiple Netmarble MMORPGs based on artificial intelligence (AI)-based behavior detection, which will block abnormal actions.
A Netmarble official noted, 'We will utilize the MMORPG service know-how gained from Raven 2 and RF Online Next to provide users with the best playing experience.'
