On the 18th, NC AI announced it will provide indie game developers and aspiring creators with an opportunity to easily develop 3D games for free.
NC AI is hosting the '1st NC AI VARCO 3D Game Production Competition' to support game developers and aspiring creators in showcasing their creative capabilities by utilizing the artificial intelligence (AI)-based 3D asset creation tool 'VARCO 3D'. During the competition period, VARCO 3D will be available for free to everyone.
VARCO 3D is a tool provided in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS) designed to enhance game development efficiency. It enables the rapid creation of 3D assets, which previously took a lot of time, in about 10 minutes, significantly reducing the burden on indie developers. Its intuitive interface and high-quality results are also strengths.
Participants must create more than 50% of the 3D assets in their game using VARCO 3D, allowing them to gain practical AI-based creative experience. Applications can be submitted individually or by teams, and completed game build files, proof of tool usage, explanatory documents, and play videos of over 5 minutes must be submitted.
The application period for the competition is from July 18 to July 31, and the main event begins on August 1. The deadline for submitting works is August 31, and the winners will be announced on September 22. The total prize pool is 7.5 million won, with 3 million won for the grand prize, 2 million won for the best award, and 50 million won for five excellence awards. All participants will receive a participation certificate, and students will receive additional points when applying for NC AI internships.
Additionally, some of the winning works will be introduced as exemplary cases in future events hosted or collaborated by NC AI, and opportunities for participation, such as keynote presentations, will be provided if necessary. Additional support, such as for game promotion, will be conducted through separate consultations.
Lee Yeon-su, CEO of NC AI, noted, 'This competition will provide more creators with experiences in game development utilizing AI technology and will serve as an opportunity to expand the creative attempts and diversity of Korea's indie game industry.'
