KT announced on the 17th that it held the 4th general meeting of its consignment company council, 'KT Partners Council', on the 16th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul.
The KT Partners Council is an organization formed voluntarily by KT's consignment companies based on the Act on the Promotion of Cooperative Partnerships between Large and Small Enterprises, enacted in 2013, to promote cooperative growth through equal transaction relationships and the exchange of technology and information, as well as joint technology development.
About 40 member companies and representatives from over 250 partner companies, along with KT employees, attended this 4th general meeting. The KT Partners Council planned this meeting in line with KT's transition to AICT, expanding and reorganizing the council for mutual growth exchanges between KT and partner companies.
In the meeting, the operational divisions were expanded to align with KT's new partner company system, and amendments to the bylaws for attracting new member companies and participation of the executive board were also approved. Additionally, a fair trade agreement was signed as part of efforts to establish fair transaction relationships between KT and partner companies, and an agreement for a 'joint investment-type technology development project' was also established to support partner companies' technology development by matching cooperative development funds. The three organizations agreed to collaborate to enhance technology development for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Byun Tae-seob, secretary-general of the Foundation for Cooperation between Large Enterprises, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Agriculture, said, 'KT is supporting the technology development of partner companies and creating a cooperative ecosystem to leap forward as an AICT corporation,' adding, 'I expect the cooperative model between KT and its partners to have a positive impact across the industry.'
Lim Dong-yeon, CEO of the KAON Group, which is the chair company of the Partners Council, stated, 'This meeting was a venue to declare the vision of the council based on the 'innovation plan for partner companies' presented on KT Partners Day on February 7,' and noted, 'We will strengthen our cooperation with AICT KT and further enhance the council's role in joint growth.'
Lee Won-jun, the head of KT's purchasing division (executive director), stated, 'At this critical juncture of transitioning to an AICT company, we will create a growth-oriented AICT cooperative ecosystem through continuous mutual growth communication with the Partners Council.'
