Webtoon Entertainment, the parent company of Naver Webtoon, announced on the 7th that it had completed its participation in the 'LA Anime Expo 2025,' held from July 3 to 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Webtoon Entertainment set up its first independent booth at this year's event and engaged with North American fans under the theme 'Where Stories Start.' During the event, thousands of visitors attended the booth each day. Posters of webtoons confirmed for animation production, such as 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint,' 'The Academic Crime,' and 'Electied,' were displayed, and project videos were screened on a large LED screen.
SIU, the creator of 'Tower of God,' held his first official signing event with North American fans at this expo, attracting attention from local fans. There was also a special screening of 'Klebatess' in collaboration with the streaming platform Crunchyroll, along with the release of behind-the-scenes footage for 'Electied.'
Additionally, a panel talk titled 'Discussing the Future of Animation and Webtoons' featured Brennan Laughters, Animation Director at Webtoon Entertainment; local U.S. writer Brandon Chen; and Crunchyroll producer Heather Hon, who discussed the direction of webtoon IP-based content production and market prospects.
Kim Yong-soo, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Naver Webtoon, noted, 'Despite being Webtoon Entertainment's first independent booth participation, it concluded with high interest from local fans,' adding, 'It was a moment that reaffirmed the global expansion potential of webtoon IPs.'
