LG Uplus announced on the 3rd that it has revamped its dedicated smartphone platform, 'Aldot', to enhance convenience for roaming for budget phone customers ahead of the summer vacation season. Now, U+ budget phone customers can easily self-register for various roaming products such as 'Roaming Pass', 'Zero Premium', and 'Daily Data Roaming' through a newly established dedicated page within Aldot.
Previously, customers had to directly inquire with the customer centers of each budget phone provider to subscribe to roaming services, often facing delays in connecting with consultants and complicated enrollment procedures that caused inconvenience. Furthermore, it was difficult to check real-time data usage and usage history, leading to significant inconvenience.
On the new Aldot roaming page, customers can sign up immediately by simply entering basic information such as the destination country, duration of stay, and data usage. During roaming, they can also check real-time data usage and charges, view enrollment history, and apply for receipt issuance.
To celebrate this revamp, all customers who subscribe to roaming through Aldot by the end of August will receive a Mega Coffee Americano coupon, and subscribers to 'Roaming Pass' will also be provided with benefits worth approximately 200,000 won, including duty-free shopping, travel insurance, and airport lounge access.
LG Uplus plans to analyze customer roaming usage patterns in the future to introduce a tailored rate plan recommendation service, and will additionally add features such as bill payment, number changes, and prepaid recharging through 'Aldot Care' within the year.
