On the 26th (local time), Google announced on its blog that it will launch an app called 'Doppl' that allows users to virtually try on various clothes using artificial intelligence (AI).
This app is a styling app that allows users to virtually try on multiple outfits. Users can upload a full-body photo of themselves and use photos or screenshots of various clothes to try them on virtually as if they were actually wearing them.
When users select the clothes they want to try on, Doppl generates a virtual version of the user wearing those clothes. These images are transformed into AI-generated videos, showing how the clothes would look when worn in real life.
Users can save their preferred looks and browse through other virtual outfits, and they can also share these with other users.
Doppl is an extension of the 'virtual try-on feature' recently launched on Google Shopping. The app is set to first be introduced as a trial in the United States on iPhones and Android phones.
Google noted on its blog, "We hope Doppl helps users explore their style in a new and exciting way, but it is still in the early stages, so it may not accurately depict all outfits."
