Kakao Games announced on the 25th that it has signed a global publishing contract for 'Project C (tentative)', a mobile collection simulation game, with its development subsidiary Lionheart Studio.
This contract marks the third collaboration between the two companies following 'Odin: Valhalla Rising' (hereafter 'Odin') and 'Project Q (tentative)', and it is the first work to be unveiled in the subculture genre together. The two companies aim to successfully achieve genre diversification and global expansion by leveraging their respective development and service capabilities.
'Project C' is a collection simulation game being developed on a mobile and PC cross-platform basis. Set in a fantasy world with five continents, it tells the stories of girls with various personalities at 'Nebula' Academy. Features include ▲ high-quality graphics using Unreal Engine 5 ▲ multidimensional characters with abilities and skills changing according to development results ▲ communication-based 'interactive development' that takes into account each character's personality and tendencies ▲ an in-depth automatic turn-based battle system considering roles, combinations, and skill synergy.
Through this contract, Kakao Games has acquired the domestic and global (excluding China) service rights for 'Project C' and will support global services based on its extensive experience in the subculture game service sector. Lionheart Studio plans to showcase its development capabilities proven in the hardcore genre in new genres with a diverse lineup.
Han Sang-woo, CEO of Kakao Games, said, "We will strive to provide a different kind of fun and experience in the existing collection simulation genre, beyond domestic markets, by consolidating the close ties with Lionheart Studio and the strengths of both companies."
Kim Jae-young, chairman of Lionheart Studio, stated, "We are doing our best to present well-made works in the subculture genre based on our solid development capabilities," adding that "we will create a synergy loop based on our cooperative relationship with Kakao Games."
